Personnal Project
The Paghjella in Digital Interaction
The project offers a unique immersion into the heart of a traditional Corsican chant, the Paghjella. The listener is placed at the center of a virtual circle represented by three singers, embodying the distinct voices of the seconda, terza, and bassu. Through the interactive interface, the user can deactivate certain voices with a simple double-click on their representation or move their virtual position closer to a specific voice to better appreciate its nuances. This sensory and educational experience marks a first step toward a more immersive integration of the Paghjella into an augmented reality environment, thereby enhancing the learning and transmission of this unique cultural heritage.
A heartfelt thank you to Michè Paoli for his generous contribution in sharing his Paghjella chants. His unique voice and remarkable talent have been a valuable asset to this project.
I am part of a group stemming from the Santa Maria de Brandu confraternity (in Cap Corse), with which we participate as much as possible in religious events (wedding masses, Holy Week celebrations, funerals, etc.). We have recorded a collection of original compositions and sacred and secular songs, which we perform as often as possible. This collection is available on YouTube Music, as well as on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, and Apple Music.
